Calorie Burn Calculator
Estimate Calories Burned per Exercise (Free)
Why Track Calories Burned?
Estimating calories burned during exercise helps you balance energy intake and expenditure for weight loss, maintenance, or muscle gain goals. This calculator uses MET values (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) along with your weight and activity duration for accurate results.
How It’s Calculated
We use the formula: Calories = MET × weight (kg) × duration (hrs). Each activity has its own MET value—running, cycling, walking, etc.—to reflect how much energy they consume.
Example Calorie Burns
- Running 30 mins @ 70 kg → ~280 kcal
- Cycling 45 mins @ 70 kg → ~367 kcal
Use the calculator on the left to estimate calories burned for your own exercises.
Keep in Mind
Actual calorie burn may vary depending on effort, metabolism, age, and fitness level. MET-based estimates offer a reliable guideline but may not reflect exact numbers.
Quick FAQs
What is a MET?
MET stands for Metabolic Equivalent of Task. It indicates how much energy you use during an activity compared to resting. For example, 1 MET is your resting rate, while 8 METs is active exercise like running.
Can I add custom activities?
If your activity is not listed, you can use a similar MET value or consult a MET database online to estimate calories burned.
How accurate is this calculator?
While this calculator uses widely accepted MET formulas, individual results may vary. Use it for guidance and track progress with wearable trackers for more precision.
